CYMRU TOGETHER
Ahead of the 2026 Senedd election, we’re calling on all political parties to set out clear, practical plans to improve lives and strengthen our communities.
Let’s build a better and fairer Cymru, together.

Let’s build a better and fairer Cymru together.
As the Senedd elections approach, people across Wales want to know how all political parties will act to improve lives and protect our future. We’re inviting all political parties to explain how they would approach these three priorities in the next Senedd term:
Make life fairer. Investing in warmer homes and cheaper, cleaner energy is about fairness. Stopping leaky homes wasting heat and backing rooftop solar will help families across Wales cut bills, create secure jobs and improve our health at the same time.
Put power in people’s hands. Renewable energy can help build a fairer Welsh economy. Ensuring energy projects deliver real local benefits and supporting our workers to lead the transition will create secure jobs, and keep lasting wealth in Welsh communities.
Restore nature for everyone. Clean rivers, nutritious food, and thriving wildlife are essential to our wellbeing. Supporting farmers and communities to restore nature and produce sustainable food, while holding polluters to account, will improve health, protect the places we love, and pass on a more resilient Wales to the next generation.
People across Wales are doing their best for their families while costs continue to rise. Public services, livelihoods, and nature are all under strain, and yet our communities continue to demonstrate care, creativity, and resilience.
The challenges we face are connected, and so are the solutions. With practical plans now, we can improve everyone’s lives, prevent further harm from climate change, and restore nature.Taking positive action here in Wales can build a better future, and help ensure we are being globally responsible by reducing the impacts on those already experiencing the worst of climate change around the world.
Wales requires leadership from every party. Wales needs credible plans that recognise shared challenges and commit to tackling them together.
Footnote (1): Signatories are endorsing the principles and shared priorities set out in this letter only. Participation does not imply endorsement of the wider positions of any other signatory involved.
Footnote (2): This open letter is published for the purposes of public debate and awareness-raising. It is not intended to influence the electoral success of any political party or candidate, and is not produced in coordination with any party or candidate.
We’re asking every party for clear, credible plans to improve lives, share power locally, and restore nature.
*The further detail, and calls to action included within each pillar have been informed by partner engagement with Climate Cymru, but are not endorsed by all signatories and partners.

ABOUT US
Cymru together is a growing movement of organisations united in our call for a fairer, healthier, and more equal Wales.
Cymru together is a non-party-political collaboration, organised by Climate Cymru.
For the avoidance of doubt, Cymru Together is an initiative convened by Climate Cymru, and is entirely separate from, and not affiliated with, any other organisation or intiative operating under a similar name, including the alliance known as “Together Cymru”.
Signing on to the open letter means supporting the shared priorities set out, and nothing more.
Participation does not imply endorsement of the views or positions of any other organisation involved.
It’s time to put care, equity, and connection at the heart of Wales’ future.
Let’s build a better and fairer Cymru, together.
